These contemporary clay pots are handmade in South Africa by Zulu artisans, both men and women. They are first assembled using the ancient coil technique using white clay. The shape is refined on a potter’s wheel. After firing in a kiln, they are immediately smoked with cow dung charcoal !! This gives each piece a unique patina, and no - they do not smell. These terracotta pieces are slightly porous and are recommended for decorative use only or dry arrangements. Display with or without the lid. Dimensions will vary slightly.
