Originating in North-Eastern Namibia, on the south bank of the Okavango River, Kavango baskets are traditionally woven by women for agricultural use. They are made from the leaves, bark and roots of the Hyphaene Petersiana or “Mikalani” Palm. The colour palette is mainly black, brown, terracotta, lilac, pink and is obtained naturally. The quality and fineness of the weaving as well as the delicate variations of colors and patterns give each basket a unique character that makes it a work of art. Dimensions will vary.
