MODERN IN DESIGN.  ORGANIC IN FEEL.  INSPIRED BY NATURE.  Yooko, meaning "tiger" in the Yaqui language, is a ceramics studio based in Guadalajara, Mexico founded by industrial designer Alejandro Vázquez. Deeply inspired by the natural world, Alejandro draws from nature to create pieces that are both functional and artistic. Each piece is carefully handmade, using the "coil" technique to allow for the creation of intricate shapes and textures. Alejandro’s expertise in industrial design has led him to develop his own clay and glaze formulas and firing processes by experimenting with different types of oxidation atmospheres. Through these unique techniques, every piece from Yooko is truly one-of-a-kind.
